SF City travelled 30 miles south for a “Friday Night Lights” matchup at Stanford University. Most of the play was dominated in the second half with a goal from Carlos Carranza to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. However, the current NCAA Division 1 champions responded with two late goals for the victory. The game served as the penultimate pre-season match for City, while the Stanford Cardinal was using this game as a spring off-season workout.
City returns to San Francisco for their traditional meeting at Negoesco against USF on April 28. That game will be the last pre-season friendly before they open on the road on May 5 against Fresno. Stanford will host another Friday night matchup against another PDL club in the SF Glens on April 27.
