Two items out today.  The first one has a major impact on the NPSL Founders Cup with Napa Valley 1839 FC joining the fold, replacing Cal United Strikers.

One of the anticipated games in the Founders Cup will be against fellow Bay Area team Oakland Roots.  The first leg has Oakland at Napa on Saturday September 21, with the return leg on Friday September 27 at Oakland.

Oakland will open on the road on August 24 at San Diego before returning to open their home schedule against Cal FC on August 31.  Napa Valley will open up the slate at home against San Diego on the same day.

The Beautiful Blog at sfgate.com has a writeup on COPA and their plans to open up a training facility in Walnut Creek.  They also hold the territorial rights to USL East Bay and they have their ongoing plans to build a stadium right off the Concord BART station with the hopes of starting play in 2023.

Stay tuned to 3pointsport for the latest in Bay Area soccer. The UPSL season has already begun, while MLS just started their schedule last week.  The NPSL season begins this month, while USL League Two will start May 3.
