The off-season officially begins with Sacramento Republic losing 2-1 to Phoenix Rising in the USL Championship Western Conference Final after leading in the 80th minute. Russell Cicerone gave the home team the lead in the 31st minute but Republic Captain Conor Donovan put the ball into his own net in the 81st minute giving Phoenix a tie. Emil Cuello scored off a balloon kick 2 minutes into the second half of stoppage time to give the win. While a home victory would have given the Capitol to host Charleston Battery on Sunday November 12 at 6pm it will be Phoenix going to South Carolina to complete the Cinderella run.
