This Week 10-28-24

The Roots lose in a blowout 5 to 0 in the season finale.  Michael at Soccer Bay Area and Jonathan at The Roots Blog have their summary on the game.  Next up for them is a road trip to Colorado Springs in the USL Playoffs in a winner take all/loser goes home match.

Also Jon from the same Roots Blog has some very intriguing news regarding the Roots (and Soul) at the Coliseum.  It may be more ideal to be there until they open their permanent venue, and that could be where it was intended for baseball.

With the Roots advancing on the road, Sacramento lose to Colorado Springs in which the winner takes second in the playoff seeding. The Republic as the fifth seed will travel to Las Vegas in their single elimination match.

The Town FC lose their playoff game 4-2 in extra time on the road at St. Louis and their season comes to an end.

With Bay FC as the only major team remaining in play with one more match at Houston in which a win or draw will propel them into the postseason in their debut year, between now and February the focus will be on the “hot stove” and select lower league games.
