The Quakes concluded their 2024 home season and began their 2025 schedule hosting the very same Real Salt Lake team. While the last result was a 1-0 loss that concluded a very dismal season, the match was highlighted with a turnover of players with only Cristian Espinoza, Hernan Lopez, and Daniel starting plus Preston Judd coming off the bench for both.
This time the result was the reverse with the Quakes coming off a 4-0 win over Real Salt Lake. Jamar Ricketts kicked off the scoring with his 28th minute strike to leave the game at 1-0 after the first half. It was the second half that provided all the goals with Rodriguez scoring off a corner kick in the 70th minute, followed by Ousseni Bouda’s tap in the 74th minute. Viktor Costa put the dagger on the match with his goal in the 84th minute. Cristian Espinoza factored in on all the scoring with three assists.
Next up for the Quakes is their first away match of the 2025 season at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday March 1 at 5:30pm PT. Real Salt Lake will host C.S. Herediano of Costa Rica in a CONCACAF Champions League match on Wednesday February 26 at 5:30pm PT before their home opener against Seattle next Saturday at 1pm PT.
