The Quakes fall to the Colorado Rapids 2 to 1 and suffer their second straight loss. Cole Bassett gave the Rapids the lead with his strike in the 38th minute only to have Chicho Arango score his second goal in the season one minute into stoppage time to draw the game even at the half. However, it was Calvin Harris of the visitors putting away the game with his strike in the 71st minute. The Quakes did put in an effort to draw even but to no avail as the Rapids get an important road win. The glaring omission from the Quakes lineup was Hernan Lopez undergoing shoulder surgery last Friday and will miss three to four months.
Next up for the Quakes is a road trip to North Carolina to face Charlotte FC in their first ever meeting on March 22 at 4:30, while Colorado will host Portland on the same day at 6:30pm.
