Quakes v Sporting Kansas City

Quakes v Sporting Kansas City

The Quakes made an attempt at another comeback after Sporting Kansas City scored three unanswered goals in the first 30 minutes of the game.  The home side could not draw even only drawing close with a 3-2 deficit.  The visitors extended their lead with two more goals but a late penalty kick could not muster a draw, as Kansas City held on for a 5 to 3 win over San Jose.

Kansas City was dominant from the start with three goals in six minutes.  Logan Ndenbe opened up the scoring tally 18 minutes into the game, while Daniel Salloi and Manu Garcia followed up with their goals three and six minutes later.  Josef Martinez scored for the home team in the 30th minute to start the comeback with Chicho Arango getting the team within one 12 minutes later late in the first half.

However, the visitors stretched their lead and never relinquished it with Solloi adding to his tally in the 73rd minute and Erik Thommy with the insurance goal in the 85th. Chicho added one more off the penalty spot 4 minutes into stoppage time but it was enough as the visitors ended up with the full three points.
