The Roots hosted the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Laney College in their second home game of the season and their second game of the week after earning a draw at New Mexico. The team almost had a second stoppage time goal only to be denied by the referee for an offside call. The result was a scoreless day and earning another point early in the USL Championship season.

The Roots now hit the road in a US Open Cup single elimination match against USL League One club Greenville Triumph at South Carolina on Thursday April 7 before returning to league play hosting San Diego on Wednesday April 13 at 7pm. The Rowdies will return home to host fellow Florida team The Villages SC of USL League Two on Tuesday April 5 at 4:30pm in Open Cup play before resuming league play against Miami FC on Saturday April 9 4:30pm start.
